Growing up in Rapid City, South Dakota, each summer meant the arrival of vehicles with license plates from every state in the US, as vacationers converged on western South Dakota to explore the Black Hills and visit Mt. Rushmore.

In early August, there was a different influx of visitors, as tens of thousands of motorcycles made their annual pilgrimage to the Black Hills for the Sturgis motorcycle rally. Although the license plates were slightly smaller, these motorcycle enthusiasts also represented every state in the US.

Those early years sparked a lasting curiosity about people’s origins. This curiosity eventually led to the creation of City Slicker Sticker.

City Slicker Sticker offers a simple yet meaningful way for individuals to share parts of their personal stories. After all, questions like "Where are you from?" and "Where do you live now?" are commonly asked when meeting someone new.

Answers to these questions are fundamental to who we are.
